For this annotated bibliography, you will be expected and required to document your source(s) according to 8th edition MLA documentation guidelines. Create an annotated bibliography of sources related to your general topic. The annotated bibliography should be 2 pages long. Follow MLA guidelines for formatting your document, including heading, spacing, font, page numbers, and margins. Font should be Times New Roman, or another easily-readable, 12 point. Each item should begin with the MLA-style citation for each source. Under that, write an annotation that does the following:
1. Discusses whether this is a primary or secondary source. Is the source presenting original ideas or data (a primary source), or is it presenting other people′s work and using it as support for the writer′s own argument (a secondary source)?
2. Describes the key issues discussed in the source. Notes the positions the writer takes on the issue. Evaluates the quality of the source, including the types of arguments and evidence used, the type of publication, etc. Assesses the author or authors′ credentials. This might require additional research. Each annotation should be one or two substantial paragraphs.
The items should be in alphabetical order. Your Annotated Bibliography should not be persuasive; it should not take a position or provide an opinion. It is an informative paper that introduces your readers to your sources, discussing their quality and the issues they raise. This is not a time to develop your argument. This is a time to evaluate your sources.
